MARIE STUART, QUEEN OF SCOTLAND

6 March 2019

MARIE STUART, QUEEN OF SCOTLAND

The tumultuous destiny of the charismatic Mary Stuart. Wife of the King of France at 16, she is widowed at 18 and refuses to remarry according to tradition. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to claim the rightful throne. But Elizabeth I's grip extends as much over England as Scotland. The two young queens are not long in becoming true enemy sisters and, between fear and fascination reciprocal, fight for the crown of England. Both rulers in power and in love, both ruling over a world ruled by men, they must absolutely decide between the bonds of marriage or their independence. But Mary threatens Elizabeth's sovereignty. Their two courts are undermined by treachery, conspiracy, and revolt, which endanger their two thrones and threaten to change the course of history.
