Settling in Casablanca

A bit further, along the Anfa boulevard which starts a few steps from the old Medina and which opens sometimes on the Corniche, sometimes on the road of Azemmour thanks to its tributaries, you can opt for residential areas neighborhoods Anfa and Paranfa. On the way, branching off slightly, do not miss the racetrack, the Royal Golf Anfa, historic quarters Chantilly, Longchamp and CIL formerly acclaimed by European families.

In any case, you should be aware that Casablanca is made up of several city centers. There is a whole part of the city that comprises the working-class neighborhood of the ancient medina, the eponymous market, the Sqala, the Casa-Port railway station, the port of Casablanca, Hassan II Avenue, and the Benjdia and Mers Sultan neighborhoods; here, the social diversity is real, as you will find members of the working class, as well as more privileged socio-professional categories, particularly with the presence of the business district and head offices of banks and large corporates.

The metropolis is now building on a third city center, currently under construction on the site of the former Casablanca Anfa airport, just a stone's throw away from the Oulfa-Hay Hassani neighborhoods located on the outskirts of the city. This mammoth project, which will give rise to the new "Manhattan" in Casablanca, will comprise 700,000 m² of housing, 360,000 m² of office space, 100,000 m² dedicated to hotels and shops, as well as 25 hectares of green space. In addition to a big theater, two malls, a city of craftsmen, a multimodal transport hub, an activity center and several towers, the city's new business district will be home to the offices of Casablanca Finance City, Africa's largest financial center, and a hundred international companies.

Among the most chic places in the outskirts of the city, the Californie neighborhood is characterized by the profusion of its luxury villas, with exceptional constructions only a stone's throw away from the business districts of Sidi Maarouf and Casablanca Finance City.

Then, around the Maârif, Palmiers, Gauthier and Racine neighborhoods there's a huge lively area resulting from the widespread presence of offices, shops, restaurants and pubs.  If you pass nearby, it's impossible to miss the famous Twin Center, two thirty-floor, 115-meter high twin towers which host a five-star hotel, restaurants and offices. Here again, there's a real social diversity, as students sharing accommodation and the middle class of Casablanca live side by side a few hundred meters from the Golden Triangle, the city's most expensive neighborhood. You will also appreciate the proximity with the French, Spanish and German cultural centers.

There are other iconic neighborhoods in Casablanca, particularly the Belvédère and Roches Noires, which were home to French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese communities in the last century, and where the melting pot is still relevant due to the presence of a primary school and several French middle schools. With the presence of the Casa Voyageurs railway station and the tramway, these two neighborhoods regained their attractiveness.

As you leave the city from the coastal road, and if you head towards Sidi Rahal, the many seafront houses of the Dar Bouazza and Tamaris neighborhoods appeal to the fans of seaside activities. The Aquaparc and the beach are also powerful attractions to visit and live in this part of the city, which stands out by its many luxury real estate developments.

New cities are emerging in the suburbs of Casablanca on the way to the airport, just like the Victoria neighborhood, which symbolizes the transformation of the city of Bouskoura just outside of Casablanca, or the small town of Nouaceur, but you can also choose to settle in the new ecological city of Zenata, approximately 30 minutes away from Casablanca.
